ABOUT NECLAS
The New England Council of Latin American Studies seeks to foster and develop interests in Latin American and Latinx studies by scholars, researchers, teachers, activists, students, and, the general, public. Focused on the New England region, NECLAS, works to encourage more effective training, teaching, and research related to Latin American and Latinx issues, and to facilitate greater exchanges within the region through lectures, fora, seminars, conferences, prizes, and publications.
The New England Council of Latin American Studies adopted its Constitution on November 14, 1970.
It now has a membership list of over 500 scholars from 49 institutions.
The Council sponsors an annual meeting once a year each fall.
